Information on the school’s student-led transition program
The Student Council Club manages our transition program. Among these student leaders, one individual takes on the role of the Purple Up! coordinator. This coordinator collaborates with the Magnet Lead teacher to identify incoming military students and matches them with 8th grade members of the Student Council. This partnership lasts throughout the year, ensuring that new students become acquainted with our school's environment, staff, and traditions.
Information on exceptional student education services
Our students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) benefit from support facilitation or consultation services, alongside any additional related services detailed in their plans. Our support facilitation teachers champion an inclusive education model, fostering collaboration between general education and special education teachers to address the diverse needs of students in the classroom. This approach highlights the importance of inclusion, teamwork, and shared expertise, ensuring that all students have access to the general curriculum and their unique learning needs are met.

Purple Up for Military Children
April marks the Month of the Military Child, and on April 15th, we honor this occasion with Purple Up. This unique event includes interactive activities designed to unite military-connected students and service members from every branch. On this day, our faculty and staff enthusiastically wear purple to express their support for all military children.
Information on mental health challenges facing military students, including ways to access school-based mental health services
Military-connected students encounter distinct challenges, such as prolonged parental deployments, frequent moves between schools, and the difficulty of leaving friends behind. These experiences can affect both their academic performance and emotional health. To assist your child during these times, the school's Student Services team—including the School Counselor, School Psychologist, and School Social Worker—is available to provide support and resources, ensuring that military-connected students and their families receive comprehensive care. They can help your child manage the emotional and social difficulties that accompany these challenges.
Additionally, families are encouraged to visit the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Mental Health website for additional support. This site offers tools and resources specifically designed to meet the needs of all families, including guidance on coping strategies, mental health awareness, and access to community resources.
