Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
As the Principal at Hubert O. Sibley K-8 Academy, I am looking forward to partnering with you to make this another successful year. As a STArts Magnet School, we focus on Science, Technology and Arts. Our students learn through exploration and innovation engaging in space, land, sea, and Visual and Graphic Arts studies through ieaching utilizing high yield instructional strategies and Project-Based Learning, to promote cultural responsiveness and facilitate Social Emotional Learning. Classroom instruction reflects diverse, research-based, educational strategies and programs.
We are excited to offer monthly parent workshops through our Parent Academy focusing on how to access and effectively utilize the parent portal and strategies to support literacy development and at home learning. We encourage all parents to participate and volunteer in school activities and to also join our PTA. Our staff and students are wonderful and very fortunate to participate in this outstanding learning environment.
Our theme for the 2023-2024 school year is “The Future of the World is our School”. This serves a reminder of the importance of the work that we do each day. The world is depending on us to maintain high expectations for learning, all while providing a safe and nurturing student-centered environment that fosters respect for individual differences. We make the learning process positive, while providing unique experiences that develop inquisitive minds of students who will become lifelong learners in the pursuit of excellence.
