Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Dear Hubert O. Sibley K-8 Academy Families,
As we embark on another academic year, I am thrilled to welcome you back to our dynamic school community. At Hubert O. Sibley K-8 Academy, we take immense pride in being a STArts Magnet School, where we emphasize the integration of Science, Technology, and the Arts. Our holistic approach to education ensures that students engage in learning through exploration and innovation, delving into studies encompassing space, land, sea, as well as Visual and Graphic Arts. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to employing high-yield instructional strategies that promote cultural responsiveness and facilitate Social Emotional Learning. Classroom instruction is rooted in diverse, research-based educational strategies and programs, reflecting our commitment to excellence and inclusivity.
This year, we are excited to offer monthly parent workshops through our Parent Academy. These workshops are designed to help parents access and effectively utilize the parent portal, as well as provide strategies to support literacy development and at-home learning. We strongly encourage all parents to participate and volunteer in school activities, and to join our PTA. Your involvement is key to creating a supportive and vibrant school community. Our staff and students are incredibly fortunate to be part of this outstanding learning environment, and we look forward to working together to ensure every student’s success.
Our theme for the 2024-2025 school year is “We are One.” This theme underscores the importance of our collective efforts and the significant impact we have on the world. It serves as a reminder that maintaining high expectations for learning, while providing a safe and nurturing environment that respects individual differences, is our shared responsibility. By making the learning process positive and providing unique experiences, we aim to develop inquisitive minds and lifelong learners in the pursuit of excellence.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can achieve great things.
With sincerity,
Mrs. Chandrell Larkin, Principal
